Ingredients

  • 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • Peanut Butter Crumbles:
    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • Peanut Butter Filling:
    • 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
    • 1 ½ cups cold milk
    • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
    • 1 cup whipped cream (or use Cool Whip)
  • Topping:
    • 2 cups whipped cream (or one 8 oz. Cool Whip container)
    • If making homemade whipped cream: Beat 1 cup of heavy whipping cream with 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar until peaks form. This will yield about 2 cups of whipped cream.

Instructions

  1. Prepare Peanut Butter Crumbles: In a mixing bowl, blend the powdered sugar with peanut butter using an electric mixer on medium speed until small crumbles form. If too dry, add a drop or two of water to help create larger chunks. Spread half of the crumbles over the base of the cooled pie crust.
  2. Make the Peanut Butter Filling: In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry vanilla pudding mix, milk, and peanut butter. Beat for about 2 minutes until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream (or Cool Whip) until combined, being careful not to overmix. Pour this creamy mixture over the peanut butter crumbles in the pie crust.
  3. Top with Whipped Cream and Crumbles: Spread the whipped cream or Cool Whip over the filling, creating an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining peanut butter crumbles over the top. Feel free to add extra crumbles for more texture and flavor.
  4. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the pie for at least 1-2 hours before serving to allow it to set.

Optional Tips:

  • For a frozen treat, place the pie in the freezer and slice as needed. Let each slice sit out for a few minutes before enjoying for the best texture.
  • Want more peanut butter flavor? Stir in an extra tablespoon or two of peanut butter into the filling. Prefer a creamier pie? Add an additional ½ cup of whipped cream to the filling mixture.

Enjoy this irresistible peanut butter pie as a chilled dessert or a frozen indulgence any time of day!
