If you’re anything like me, you’ll be thinking about biscuits for days after leaving a KFC restaurant. It’s like biting into heaven with the golden flaky exterior and warm buttery interior. And if the food tastes better in paradise, KFC biscuits are likely to taste the same.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cup flour (all-purpose)
a quarter-cup of buttermilk
1 tbsp. shortening
milk (two tablespoons)
sugar (one spoonful)
1 tablespoon powdered baking soda
salt (two tablespoons)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda butter (to be slathered on once they’re done)
Directions:
This recipe yields 12 to 14 biscuits and takes around 30 minutes to prepare. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit first. In a mixing basin, combine the dry ingredients, then fold in the shortening until the mixture is coarse and resembles pebbles.
Next, please make a small well in the center of your dough and pour one cup of buttermilk into it. Combine all of the ingredients until you get a shaggy dough consistency.
(If the mixture becomes too dry, add the rest of the buttermilk; if it becomes too wet, add a tablespoon or two of flour.)
Sprinkle a slight flour coating on the area where you’ll be working with the dough, then knee it approximately 10 times until it’s smooth. Divide the dough in half and roll each half into a 1/2-inch round.
