kfc biscuits

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be thinking about biscuits for days after leaving a KFC restaurant. It’s like biting into heaven with the golden flaky exterior and warm buttery interior. And if food tastes better in paradise, KFC biscuits are likely to taste the same.

We finally found a recipe for them to make at home, and they taste EXACTLY like the ones at KFC. Here’s how to put them together.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour (all-purpose)
a quarter teaspoon of baking soda
1 tablespoon powdered baking soda
6 tablespoons fat 1 teaspoon salt
a quarter cup of buttermilk

Directions:

Sift the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl and chop in the lard with a pastry cutter or two knives until a coarse meal texture is achieved. Knead in the buttermilk softly yet wholly. If the dough is too sticky, extra flour should be added. Knead for 1 minute, cover with foil or wax paper, and chill for at least 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Roll out the dough 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured board and cut using a biscuit cutter. (A drinking glass of the necessary diameter will suffice if you don’t have one.) Place biscuits on a dark baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
