Ingredients:

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Sazon seasoning
  • 2 cups pasta shells
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons Knorr granulated chicken bouillon
  • 4 tablespoons Knorr granulated tomato bouillon
  • 3 serrano peppers, diced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies (such as Rotel)
  • A handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Onion powder to taste
  • 1 bay leaf

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with minced garlic, black pepper, and Sazon seasoning over medium heat.
  2. While the beef is cooking, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil in a deep skillet. Add the pasta shells and cook, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown.
  3. Drain excess fat from the browned ground beef and add the beef to the skillet with the pasta shells.
  4. Pour in 4 cups of water and add the chicken bouillon, tomato bouillon, diced serrano peppers, chopped onion, and can of diced tomatoes with green chilies.
  5. Stir in the chopped cilantro, garlic powder, onion powder, and bay leaf.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the pasta shells are tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
  7. Remove the bay leaf before serving. Enjoy this flavorful and easy-to-make pasta dish with a Mexican twist!
