Since 1985, I have had a very basic recipe for a a simple butter cookie. I recently needed to bake a batch of plan cookies to give to someone, so I decided after 36 years to try the butter cookie recipe for the first time. It was a homerun winning recipe. If you like a plain, small butter cookie you might like this cookie.
How to make it :
Drop Butter Cookie
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour (White Lily All Purpose Flour)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and salt. Cream together with butter. Add egg, vanilla to butter mixture and beat together well.
Stir into butter mixture sifted flour.
Use a small cookie scoop or teaspoon to drop cookies on a greased baking sheet pan.
Bake cookies for 10 minutes or until edges of cookies are slightly brown.
Remove from baking sheet and let cool on a cookie cooling rack.
