BUTTER MILK PIE

This traditional southern buttermilk pie is easy to make and a hit with the whole family. A flaky pie crust with a custard-like filling that will transport you to another era.

INGREDIENTS:

3 beaten eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk (low fat)
1 teaspoon extract de vanille
1 pound of sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
a half teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup melted and cooled butter
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until thick and thoroughly combined.
Combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a separate basin.
Whisk together the two components until they are completely combined.
Fill the unbaked pie crust with the filling.
55 minutes in the oven (your time may be different, depends on the oven).
Allow the pie to cool fully before serving.
Devour. (Can be served cold or at room temperature.)
