- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
For the Glaze
- 1–3 tablespoons milk, divided
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
For the Bread
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC). Line a bread pan with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the chopped apples with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
- Using a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and 2/3 cup of sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, beating until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the batter, beating until combined. Pour in the milk and mix until the batter is uniform.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared bread pan. Sprinkle half of the apple mixture and half of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture over the batter. Add the remaining batter, followed by the remaining apples and brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
- Bake for approximately 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing it.
For the Glaze
- In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk. Slowly add more milk until the glaze reaches your desired consistency.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread before serving. Enjoy!
