Crockpot Beef and Broccoli is a delicious, easy-to-prepare dish that is perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends. This recipe is a classic Chinese-American dish that has become popular all over the world. With its tender beef, crisp broccoli, and flavorful sauce, it’s no wonder that this dish is a crowd-pleaser.

The key to making this dish is using a crockpot, also known as a slow cooker. A crockpot is an electrical appliance that allows you to cook food slowly over several hours. The low heat and long cooking time allow the flavors to develop and the meat to become tender.

Ingredients:

1 pound boneless beef chuck roast, thinly sliced
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons sauce from the crock pot, cooled
Fresh broccoli florets, as desired
Hot cooked rice

Directions:

Place the thinly sliced beef in a slow cooker.
In a small bowl, mix together the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Pour this mixture over the beef in the slow cooker. Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.
In a cup, stir together the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of the sauce from the slow cooker until smooth. Add this mixture to the slow cooker and stir well to combine. If the sauce is not thickening, you can bring it to a boil on the stovetop until it reaches the desired consistency.
Add fresh broccoli florets to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
Cover the slow cooker and cook for an additional 30 minutes on high heat, or until the sauce has thickened and the broccoli is tender.
Serve the beef and broccoli over hot cooked rice.
