The recipe we are discussing today is a classic American dessert known as “Dump Cake.” It’s a simple yet delicious dessert that requires very few ingredients and minimal effort to prepare. Dump cake is a great dessert to make when you’re short on time but still want to impress your guests with something sweet and delicious.
Ingredients:
- Non-stick cooking spray, such as PAM
- 1 can of pie filling for an 8″ x 8″ pan or 2 cans for a 9″ x 13″ pan
- 1 box of Jiffy Golden Yellow Cake Mix for an 8″ x 8″ pan or 2 boxes for a 9″ x 13″ pan
- 1/2 – 3/4 stick of butter
- Sugar
- Ground cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Spray the inside of a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour the pie filling into the baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top of the pie filling, spreading it evenly.
- Cut thin slices of butter and place them evenly over the top of the cake mix with small spaces between them.
- Sprinkle sugar over the entire top.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the entire top.
- Bake for 25-35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream if desired.
