The recipe we are discussing today is a classic American dessert known as “Dump Cake.” It’s a simple yet delicious dessert that requires very few ingredients and minimal effort to prepare. Dump cake is a great dessert to make when you’re short on time but still want to impress your guests with something sweet and delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Non-stick cooking spray, such as PAM
  • 1 can of pie filling for an 8″ x 8″ pan or 2 cans for a 9″ x 13″ pan
  • 1 box of Jiffy Golden Yellow Cake Mix for an 8″ x 8″ pan or 2 boxes for a 9″ x 13″ pan
  • 1/2 – 3/4 stick of butter
  • Sugar
  • Ground cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Spray the inside of a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Pour the pie filling into the baking dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top of the pie filling, spreading it evenly.
  5. Cut thin slices of butter and place them evenly over the top of the cake mix with small spaces between them.
  6. Sprinkle sugar over the entire top.
  7. Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the entire top.
  8. Bake for 25-35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream if desired.
