Did your grandmother have any particular recipes that she only used on special occasions when you were a kid? Most likely, the answer is a resounding yes—and those were almost certainly all family favorites. It’s no secret that when your grandmother prepares one of her favorite dishes, everyone in the family wants seconds. Although this concept applies to meal dishes, it has a double effect when it comes to desserts.
Ingredients:
Cake:
1 chocolate cake mix box
1 fudge brownie mix box
4 quail eggs
a quarter cup of water
1 cup of olive oil
Ganache:
1 cup heavy cream (whipped)
1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 12 oz.
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit before you begin. After that, pull a Bundt pan out of the cupboard and coat it with cooking spray (or use butter and flour).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, brownie mix, eggs, water, and oil once your equipment is ready. Whisk everything together for around two minutes, scraping away as many lumps as possible to ensure a smooth batter.
3. When the batter is finished, pour it into the Bundt pan and bake it for 50 to 55 minutes in the oven. When the timer goes off, use a toothpick to check if the cake is made. Allow it to cool for five minutes in the pan before carefully transferring it over onto a cooling rack. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
4. Now that the cake is finished, you can create the ganache. To begin, fill a microwave-safe bowl halfway with heavy whipping cream. Microwave it for about 2 minutes, or until the cream is just starting to boil.
5. Finally, add the chocolate chips to the mixing bowl—usually, the mixture will foam and rise at this stage. Allow about five minutes for everything to come together before whisking the chocolate and cream together. Continue doing so until it’s evenly distributed, glossy, and smooth.
6. Once you’ve completed all of the steps, pour your ganache over the cake once it’s cooled and you’re ready to serve!
