These Glazed Fudgy Lemon Brownies are very delicious! Soft, chewy, moist, fudgy, and bursting with citrus flavor!
Ingredients:
2/3 cup softened butter (at room temperature)
1 pound of sugar
two eggs
4 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
Lemon zest (two lemons)
a half teaspoon of salt
1 1/4 cup flour (all-purpose)
TO MAKE THE GLAZE:
1 cup sugar (powdered)
2–3 tablespoons lemon juice
one lemon’s zest
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using foil, line an 8×8 or 9×9″ baking pan, extending the sides of the foil over the pan’s edges. Set aside the foil after heavily spraying it with cooking spray.
Combine the butter and sugar in a large mixing basin and whisk until well blended. Gradually whisk in the eggs until just mixed; do not overmix, or the brownies will become tough. Finally, combine the lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and flour in a soft batter.
Smooth out the top of the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the top is firm and softly golden brown, but no longer. Allow cooling fully.
Make your glaze once everything has cooled down. Whisk together the powdered sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl until you get a spreadable, pourable glaze. Pour the mixture over the bars and smooth it out. Serve with lemon zest on top. Allow the glaze to cure before cutting into squares and serving.
