Ingredients:

  • 500g pre-made shortcrust pastry
  • 250g mature Cheddar cheese
  • 145ml whole milk
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 220C/fan 200C/gas 7. Grease an oven-proof dish.
  2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a floured surface and use it to line the greased dish.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, beat the eggs and mix them with the whole milk. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to your liking.
  4. Pour the egg and milk mixture into the pastry-lined dish.
  5. Grate the mature Cheddar cheese and evenly distribute it over the egg and milk mixture.
  6. Place the dish on the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese on top turns a golden brown color.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and serve your delicious cheesy dish.
