Seafood with macaroni and cheese? Oh, my goodness! This is paradise! It’s delicious, with great flavors that pop in your tongue and a no-fuss preparation. One of my favorite comfort foods and a seafood lover’s dream come true. This creamy, cheesy, seafood-loaded mac & cheese is delicious!
Ingredients:
2 cups macaroni (dried)
Claw Crab Meat, 6 oz.
8 oz. peeled and deveined shrimp
Sour Cream, 8 oz.
Butter (four tablespoons)
flour, 2 tbsp
1 Onion, Spring
1 Evaporated Milk can
Sharp White Cheddar Cheese, 8 oz. block
Block of 4 oz. Cheese Mozzarella
¼ cup bread crumbs (panko)
to taste with salt and black pepper
Instructions:
First, preheat the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2: Peel and de-vein the shrimp if necessary.
Step 3: Cook the macaroni according to the package directions, then drain well.
Step 4: Combine the drained macaroni and sour cream in a large mixing dish. Before adding the crab meat, make sure the macaroni is well covered. To coat, whisk thoroughly once more.
Step 5: Finely chop the green onions and set them aside.
Step 6: Remove the shredded white cheddar cheese and set it aside. Then grate the mozzarella and keep it aside.
Step 7: Melt the butter in a medium pot or skillet. When the butter has melted, add the shrimp and stir gently until they are done.
Step 8: Remove the shrimp from the pan and set it aside. Allow cooling somewhat before cutting. Add the chopped shrimp to the macaroni mixture after that.
Step 9: Saute the finely chopped onions in the pot until soft before adding the flour. Cook for approximately a minute, or until golden brown. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring continually, until the mixture thickens. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it is completely melted.
Step 10: Toss the macaroni and seafood combined with the cheese mixture and whisk to combine.
Step 11: Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Step 12: Place the mixture in a well-buttered baking dish and top with the grated mozzarella cheese, followed by the bread crumbs.
Step 13: Lightly sprinkle paprika on top to provide color.
Step 14: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is softly brown, in a preheated oven.
Step 15: Remove the dish from the oven and serve immediately. Enjoy!
