The foundation of this recipe is lean ground beef, seasoned to perfection with a blend of salt, pepper, garlic salt, and dry mustard. The beef is then cooked until browned, creating a savory base for the rest of the ingredients. To add a delightful crunch and a pop of color, chopped onions, red bell peppers, and green bell peppers are sautéed alongside the beef until they reach a tender consistency.

Ingredients:

2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
1/2 cup Chopped Onions
1/4 cup Chopped Red Bell Peppers
1/4 cup Chopped Green Bell Peppers
1 tablespoon Salt
1 tablespoon Pepper
1 tablespoon Garlic Salt
1/2 tablespoon Dry Mustard
1/2 cup prepared Cheese Sauce (see recipe under “Sauces”)
1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese or your favorite cheese
1/2 cup Ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
1/2 tablespoon Onion Powder
4-6 Large Flour Tortillas (Wheat tortillas can be substituted)
1 tablespoon Oil

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic salt, and dry mustard. Mix well to season the beef.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned ground beef to the skillet and cook for about 6-8 minutes, or until browned.
Add the chopped onions, red bell peppers, and green bell peppers to the skillet with the beef. Continue cooking for an additional 2 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft. Keep warm.
In a separate bowl, mix together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Stir well to blend the ingredients. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef in the skillet and keep warm.
Take a large flour tortilla and spoon the beef mixture onto the center of the tortilla.
Spread the cheese sauce over the beef mixture and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Fold the tortilla over the filling, creating a burrito shape.
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the filled tortilla in the skillet and cook for about 1 minute on each side, or until golden brown.
Serve the Sloppy Joe burrito hot.
