PREPARATION:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease an 8×8 baking dish.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter until it reaches an amber color, swirling the pan continuously to prevent burning. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar into the warm melted butter until fully combined. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the shredded coconut into the batter and then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, covering with foil for the last 10 minutes. Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing.
