The process of glazing nuts emerged as a way to enhance their flavor and prolong their shelf life. Originally, nuts were coated in sugar or honey and then heated, resulting in a glossy, sweet glaze that encased the nuts. Over time, different variations and combinations of nuts were experimented with, leading to the creation of the Glazed Nut Medley as we know it today.

Pecans, for example, are a great source of antioxidants, healthy monounsaturated fats, and essential minerals like magnesium and zinc. Almonds are known for their high vitamin E content, fiber, and heart-healthy fats. Cashews offer a rich source of copper, manganese, and phosphorus. Dried cranberries, although small in size, provide a burst of vitamins, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. 1 bag of pecans
1 bag of cashews
1 bag of almonds
1 bag of dried cranberries
1/2 cup of honey
6 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon

Preheat your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit (135 degrees Celsius).

In a saucepan, combine the honey and coconut oil. Heat the mixture over low heat until they melt together, stirring occasionally.

Once melted, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pecans, cashews, almonds, and dried cranberries.

Pour the honey and oil mixture over the nut and cranberry mixture, ensuring all the nuts and cranberries are evenly coated.

Spread the glazed nut mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes. For extra crunch, you can bake for an additional 5 minutes.

Every 10 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven and give the nuts a stir to ensure even baking and prevent burning.

Once the nuts are golden brown and fragrant, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet.

Once cooled, transfer the glazed nut medley to an airtight container or divide them into smaller gift bags for sharing.

Enjoy the deliciously glazed nut medley as a snack or use it to enhance your favorite recipes!
