Ingredients:

1 cup softened butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and packed brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next one. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water and add it to the batter, along with the salt. Mix well.

Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the batter, stirring until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Using a large spoon, drop spoonfuls of the dough onto ungreased baking pans, leaving some space between each cookie.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes or until the edges are nicely browned. The center of the cookies may still appear slightly soft, but they will firm up as they cool.

Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking pans for a few minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy these delicious homemade chocolate chip walnut cookies!
